Its been brought to our attention that science graduates applying for jobs over the internet have been contacted by individuals claiming to be from a variety of science recruitment companies. The graduates are told that their CVs are not good enough and they should use a company called CVSelector who will reformat their CV for £39 (or £51 within a week).

Many graduates using this service believe it to be a scam,  see discussion on google

SRG utterly condemns this practice. As the UK’s largest, specialist science recruitment company we have always offered free CV reformatting where necessary to science graduates and will continue to do so. If a candidate applies to us with a CV that doesn’t match the format that our clients want to see then we will reformat it for you - it is in our interests to ensure that your skills are presented in the best way so there is no reason for you to pay.

In addition, we offer free advice to any science graduate, be they registered with us or not. We have excellent relationships with many of the UK’s Universities and attend dozens of career events and CV clinics each year. We have specific sections on our websites to help with career advice and a handy “Get that job” leaflet is available to all to download.

If you feel you have been the victim of bad practice then please contact us on info@srg.co.uk and we will flag up to the authorities concerned.
