Do you have previous HPLC experience?
Have you experience from the food / pharmaceutical industry?
A leading analytical testing company focusing on both the food and pharmaceutical industries is currently recruiting for a Research Assistant to work within their Functional Ingredients team.
You will be responsible for conduction routine analysis using HPLC on food and pharmaceutical samples. As well as this you will be expected to maintain the equipment, ensure all instrument parts are in stock as well as checking that all log books have been completed against quality standards. You will also be expected to calibrate method development work with supervision.
Accountabilities:
- Undertake a range of routine and specialised analyses applying a range of technical abilities e.g. HPLC, IC, GC and UV spectrophotometric;
- Ensure that you work to UKAS / GMP standards and assist in the maintenance and implementation of current quality systems;
- Apply appropriate solutions or approaches to identify and resolve problems when analysing many different types of sample matrices;
- HPLC instruments maintenance including basic servicing and repairs and to be knowledgeable of chromatography software (ChemStation, OpenLab, Chromeleon).
Requirements:
- Must have experience of HPLC and a strong scientific background;
- Previous experience having worked in either the pharmaceutical or food industry;
- Good understanding of working with quality systems, so GMP or UKAS;
- Computer literate especially in Excel;
- Worked on multiple projects and requests regularly so able to prioritise.
The team is very close knit so the individual will need to be proactive, confident, able to stand up and voice any concerns, responsible and accountable.
